Rosacea - out of control - found a fix
Just wanted to share a quick win in case anyone else is dealing with rosacea.
I was really struggling. My cheeks and nose were constantly red, inflamed, and starting to get bumps and ripples. In the past, I tried laser, but the redness always came back. And it took multiple appointments. Not only time-consuming, but painful and expensive.
About a month ago, I had an appointment with Stacy, my NP, and she prescribed a cream I apply before bed. Something that actually worked. Within a few weeks, the texture and redness completely cleared up.
The only time it flares now? A glass of red wine. Go figure.

I started experiencing rosacea during peri - this summer has been especially tough with flareups. @... would you be open to sharing which topical you’re using?

I was going to upload a picture of the cream, but it looks like I can’t add an image here. The prescription is Niacinamide 5% and Metronidazole 1%. sanoMidlife sent it to a pharmacy, and it was delivered right to my door. I just realized I need to order a refill!

Thanks for sharing @...! I’m glad you’ve found something that’s working so well for you. I’ll definitely ask my NP about options at my next visit :)

Hi there, thanks for sharing this experience! I too struggle with Rosea. Was the topical called Finacea by any chance? That is what I use. I tend not to need it in the summer as much, but now the drier air has hit, I am having flare ups :(

Hi Hot Mess! my Nurse Practitioner prescribed a compounded topical with Niacinamide 5% and Metronidazole 1%. She sent it to the pharmacy, and it was delivered right to my door - super convenient!
I have a friend who uses Finacea (its active ingredient is azelaic acid, which is different from what I use). I’ve heard that both treatments can be effective for rosacea, but it’s best to chat with your NP to see what’s right for you. Hope that helps.
