Perimenopause and alcohol

I can relate! I noticed the same thing. I learned that alcohol isn’t just a depressant…. it can also disrupt sleep and affect our hormone health. That was enough for me to take a step back and decide to cut it out. If you’re looking for alternatives, I’ve found some great mocktail recipes. Happy to share a few if you’re interested :)

Jennifer his mocktail is my favourite! It’s packed with antioxidants, probiotics and is low in sugar... it went viral online for good reason :)

    To make it:

    - Brew butterfly pea tea (add in ~ 1 tsp of honey if you like your mocktails a bit sweeter) and let it cool
    - Muddle ~ 10 blueberries in a glass, then add in ~ 2 tbsp of lemon juice and fill your cup with ice
    - Add in ~ 1/2 cup of kombucha or sparkling water
    - Top with the cooled tea and enjoy!

I love this - I think it would be great to have another thread for our favorite mocktails!

Popping in to share something fun! Not exactly a mocktail but I’ve been experimenting with fancy ice cubes to motivate myself to drink more water. One of my summer favourites has been cucumber-mint ice cubes :)

I slice up half a cucumber into thin rounds, chop mint leaves into small pieces (sometimes I’ll add a few thin lemon slices too) then pop everything into an ice cube tray, fill with water and freeze overnight. These make water taste refreshing and spa-like!
